Our client ate seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join their dynamic team in the Enterprise Applications tower to design and implement innovative software solutions to meet the needs of the business. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will work closely with the business stakeholders and the product owners to understand the business requirements, design high-quality solutions, and proactively support technical implementation and delivery of those solutions in line with the proposed designs. You will have a deep understanding of the good industry practice in designing, implementing, and governing solution architecture focussed on SAP solutions. You will provide the necessary input, challenge and guidance to the technical delivery leadership and the product owners to ensure the delivered solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. You will also: • Refine product selection and evaluation criteria in line with the approved design and security principles. • Monitor emerging technologies, relevant industry trends and the latest innovation. Assess their practical application and potential impact on our enterprise estate and feed your findings into the Technology Design and Decision forum. • Provide architectural input into market scanning, pre-tender engagement and tender selection processes for software products and services. • Ensure technical feasibility of proposed solutions. Document the use of interim and tactical solutions as architectural or technical debt and reflect proposed migration to the strategic choices in the relevant solution roadmaps. • Work with the product owners to understand the required new (or changes to the existing) business capabilities and constraints to inform new solution designs. • Develop phased solution architecture as the key input into the overall solution plan. • Collaborate on the designs with the technical, infrastructure, network, service, and security architects to ensure the proposed design safely fits within our IT landscape. • Produce accurate architecture diagrams and blueprints illustrating AS-IS, TO-BE and interim architecture states to help the Design Authority assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on our business and the IT estate. • Maintain architectural principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns in line with the approved design principles, strategic direction, and good industry practice. • Review and approve solution designs as part of the Design Authority forum. • Harvest, catalogue and socialise any re-usable patterns to accelerate and de-risk any future designs. • Work closely with the product and platform owners to monitor implemented solutions to ensure they are fully supportable, remain to be fit-for-purpose, aligned with the approved design principles and good industry practice. Knowledge, Skills & Experience • Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer science, Software engineering, or related field • 7+ years of experience in software design or technical delivery leadership role • Owning creation of the solution designs and overseeing solution implementation in an agile style delivery. • Developing architecture blueprints, product and platform strategies, and roadmaps. • Effective management of technical and architectural debt. • Current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in solution architecture. • Architecture-driven-agile delivery method. • A good understanding of the IaaS, PaaS and SaaS concepts, their applications, benefits, and challenges. • Familiarity with either Salesforce or SAP technologies. • Being open minded, curious, and enthusiastic about putting your customers first.
