Job Title: Food Technology Teacher Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Education and Training Salary: £11.66 - £15 Per hour Job Duties: The Food Technology Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in food technology, ensuring students develop a solid understanding of culinary techniques, nutrition, and food safety.
They must assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning needs.
The teacher will also manage classroom behaviour, maintain a safe learning environment, and participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Degree in Food Technology or related field Experience teaching food technology at secondary level Knowledge of current curriculum standards Education: Degree in Food Technology or related field Experience: Teaching food technology at secondary level Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food safety Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Organisational skills and ability to manage classroom effectively Preferred Qualifications: Postgraduate qualification in Education Experience working with students with special educational needs Working Conditions: The Food Technology Teacher will work in a school setting, following the academic calendar.
They may need to attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular events.
The role involves standing for extended periods, interacting with students and colleagues, and complying with school policies and procedures.
