Westinghouse is seeking 2024 Summer Interns for Mechanical and Process Engineering Intern.

The successful applicant will join the Global Operations Services team in the UK and complete their internship at our facility located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, US.

Your Day-to-Day: General: Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

Grow and develop extensive technical expertise in US and international nuclear markets.

Work in teams to resolve critical issues impacting the construction and operation of nuclear power plants.

Develop and maintain an effective business relationship with Westinghouse customers.

Key Responsibilities: Providing engineering design and/or analysis for nuclear products/projects including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring; Interfacing with other internal functional groups on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments; Planning and scheduling work to meet assignment requirements.

Personal Attributes: Ability to quickly learn to evaluate, select and utilize standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications.

Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical of Chemical Engineering required.

Should be over 18 years of age Must already be eligible to work in the UK legally Ability to work for 4-5 months from May 2024 – September 2024 Ability to obtain J-1 Visa (Westinghouse will assist with the application, etc.) Ability to temporarily relocate to Rock Hill, South Carolina, US (Westinghouse will provide relocation assistance from UK to US, etc.) Ability to work independently using basic knowledge obtained from core university courses.
