Based on the Isles of Scilly, you will be joining a small team of professionals responsible for the delivery of building maintenance, refurbishment, and new build projects across the Duchy of Cornwall’s diverse rural portfolio.
We’re looking for a chartered building surveyor (or equivalent) with strong experience in reactive and planned maintenance, refurbishment, and managing construction projects under contract to manage a let property portfolio across a group of islands, offering both challenge and reward in a truly distinctive setting.
You’ll play a key role in the effective management and maintenance of a diverse property portfolio, including delivering condition surveys, managing reactive and planned maintenance, and leading refurbishment and repair projects. You’ll ensure works are well‑designed and compliant, also contribute to strategic decision‑making through feasibility reports and help drive energy efficiency and sustainability across the estate.
You’ll have a solid understanding of CDM regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and listed building and planning applications, with a particular strength in diagnosing and resolving defects in traditional and historic properties.
This role also requires frequent travel by boat to off‑islands, including St Martin’s, Bryher and St Agnes.
