About us
Duchy Hospital is part of Ramsay Health Care UK which itself is part of the global healthcare provider Ramsay Health Care. It provides private and NHS hospital services for the population of Cornwall and in some case Devon and further afield. Working closely with the local NHS providers and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board, Duchy is seen as a key system partner particularly in the provision of elective cardiology services.
In addition to cardiology, the hospital provides elective surgical care for adults across a range of specialties including orthopaedic, general surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.
The core values that underpin the way we work are incorporated in ‘Ramsay Cares’, for our people, our communities, and our planet. These values and the behaviours that support them, guide everything we do and set out what we expect of our staff in the way they treat patients, visitors, service users and each other.
We offer a pleasant and supportive working environment, in the beautiful county of Cornwall where there are opportunities for a range of hobbies and outdoor activities from active to the more relaxing. With flexible working solutions, heavily subsided meals, free parking and significant support for personal and professional development, Duchy really is a great place to work. In our most recent staff survey 87% of our staff feel respected at work, 81% feel supported in their efforts to adapt to changes, 87% would recommend this organisation to people as a great place to work, and a massive 90% felt that Duchy made patient safety a priority.
