My client are a leading Bank based in Oman undergoing a significant change programme to transform the bank’s offering from a digital perspective.

This will take in both the front end customer experience and back office capability to drive a more effective all-round offering.

A key role in driving the future success of the Bank is the hire of a new Head of Cards to join the team.

This role is based in Oman and will require relocation to be onsite 5 days per week.

The Head of Cards will be responsible for defining and driving the bank’s card strategy, encompassing product development and management, card acquisition across channels and segments.

This role entails developing, executing, and managing strategies to attract and onboard new cardholders including, but not limited to, retail customers, Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and payment gateway platforms.

Additionally, the Head of Cards will support card issuance activities as required, including customer service, fraud management, and regulatory compliance.

They will be responsible for managing relationship with all vendors related to the banks card acquisition business.

Key areas of responsibility: Acquisition and Growth Strategy Product Development & Management Cards Issuance Risk Management & Compliance Analytics & Portfolio Optimization Vendor & Stakeholder Management Ensure Compliance with banks policies and procedures.

Engage, influence, motivate, and enable the team to successfully contribute towards achievement and delivery of bank’s objectives related to cards acquisition.

Manage the cards team, coaching and developing the team, managing resource requirements.

Be a role model for teamwork, communication and program/project management, building partnerships to collectively deliver excellent outcomes.

Supporting the wider bank to achieve its objectives, as required.

Key experience requirements Relevant business degree 10 years of experience in banking or financial industry with focus on Cards Demonstrate experience in managing a team and leading relevant card projects to successful completion Experience of managing and influencing stakeholders & sponsors across the bank Deep understanding of regulatory requirement and risk management policies Demonstrate experience of managing vendor relationships to achieve the banks objectives High competent in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, MS Projects.
