The Role Overview
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for group-wide financial reporting and analysis, while managing a small team. You will play a crucial role in supporting financial function within the business. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Financial Reporting - prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports, statements and reconciliations, including balance sheet, profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries, forecasting
- Financial Analysis - analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
- Performance Reporting - create and present comprehensive management reports that highlight business performance and emerging trends
- Risk Management - improve and implement risk management and internal controls and processes
- Cost Management - analyse costs and recommend improvements to enhance profitability
- Statutory Reporting - prepare statutory financial statements in collaboration with external financial accountants
- Team Supervision - supervise and mentor the internal accounting team
- Compliance and Controls - ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal controls and policies
Desired Skills
- CIMA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified (final stage)
- Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in a Management Accountant role
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance principles and procedures
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and MS Excel
- Natural problem solver
