The Head of Safeguarding for Children, Young People and Adults is also responsible for the strategic, operational management and leadership of the Trust-wide Safeguarding Team and the hosted CDOP (Child Death Overview Process) Team. The Trust takes safeguarding seriously and the post holder will ensure that children and adult patients are safeguarded and receive the right response to protect them, in the right place and by staff who are skilled, trained and sensitive towards their needs. The post holder will also be the Trust's representative across the system-wide safeguarding partnerships to support effective multi-agency working for safeguarding practice and lead on building system relationships to ensure that patients are safeguarded as they move through the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland system. Churchard@nhs.net, Contact on: 07801 557885 Main duties of the job The post holder will provide leadership and coordinate the delivery of Trust-wide Safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring that appropriate support, supervision, risk management processes, and training are in place to enable safe, efficient, effective, and timely management of the Safeguarding agenda and services. Advising the Executive Lead and Trust Board on the organisation's responsibilities around safeguarding; to ensure that safeguarding is adequately resourced and meets national standards within national guidance and that staff receive adequate supervision and training to support the safeguarding delivery across the Trust. Influence and lead on safeguarding governance within the Trust ensuring the arrangements are robust, fit for purpose, and meeting statutory requirements with a focus on quality improvement, audit research, and feedback from the people who use the Trust services. Lead LPT's contribution to local OFSTED and CQC inspections of safeguarding, both in supporting preparation and engaging with the safeguarding inspection processes and ensure that quality systems are in place to monitor essential standards for registration.
