An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Recovery Peer Support Worker to be recruited to East Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service. The post holder will have their own lived experience of substance use and recovery and use this lived experience to instil confidence and hope amongst our service users that recovery is possible.

The post holder will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, using their lived experience and knowledge to support individuals in their own recovery.

The addition of peer support workers to the alcohol and drugs workforce in East Renfrewshire is part of a wider strategy to ensure that lived experience is at the heart of service delivery.

With great listening skills and an understanding of what can help and hinder recovery, the post holder will use the knowledge and wisdom that comes with their lived experience of substance use and recovery to enable others to achieve their own unique recovery goals. Successful candidates will work closely with other health professionals in the service, have access to leadership and support and a wide range of learning and development opportunities, to enable them to carry out their role effectively and further their personal development.
