Working within a small legal team and reporting to the Head of Legal this is a role with a broad spread of legal work. We are looking for a hands on junior lawyer who will be happy to immerse themselves in all areas of the business. Your background may be in general commercial but we are also open to candidates who possess a litigation background looking for an interesting in house opportunity. The work will be broad in scope but will include some of the following; Commercial Contracts Supply Contracts Legal Compliance Develop and/or maintain subject matter expertise in a core legal compliance areas Provide prompt and pragmatic legal support to support core regulatory compliance and identify and mitigate contractual and operational risk Provide strategic and legal support to resolve material disputes Your commercial approach to problem solving will be as highly valued as your legal background. We would emphasise the key criteria - a commercial approach above specific criteria listed in this role profile. Background; strong knowledge of contract law Good experience of drafting and negotiating contracts pragmatic, commercial negotiation approach Organisational ability and multi-tasking Self motivated Ability to work under pressure and be flexible as part of a small team Sense of humour UK Qualified Solicitor or Barrister Highly flexible hybrid working with support from a highly experienced in house legal team. The ability to work in the Oxfordshire based office at least twice a week is expected.
