  • Hybrid role - Mix of static work at local facility in Norwich, Lowestoft or Bury St Edmunds, with travel approx 3 days a week to opposing sites
  • Mon to Fri, regular hours


Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to recruit either an Electrical or Mechanical maintenance engineer to join a major, long term Government contract, largely working across 3 main sites, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft


These sites include large office buildings, but also critical Laboratories and other research facilities for government science work, and so are highly important buildings, meaning the engineering must be of a high quality


Here, depending on your qualifications and skills, you will focus on electrical or mechanical maintenance tasks, both planned and reactive, while escorting sub contractors and supporting on small projects


When traveling in the region, this will of course be in working hours and you will have full use of company van


This role also has the potential to develop into a Supervisory role, so any interest in exploring leadership duties could be utilised here


This is a fantastic role for a confident engineer to develop both technically, and into leadership.


Actions will include:


  • Responsibility for mechanical / electrical PPMs, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are exceeded.
  • To complete Electrical or Mechanical AP training
  • Supervise competent persons undertaking electrical works.
  • Responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include basic fabric, HVAC, mechanical and related tasks.
  • To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met. Issue of Permits to Work.
  • Ensure that all equipment within scope operates to specified performance criteria.
  • Ensure equipment and surrounding area conforms to agreed company standards.


We need from you:

  • Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications with sound maintenance experience
