The role is focussing on the Build and Development of EV Powertrains for the e VTOL Sector.
One of our key clients, a leading innovator in e VTOL and Aerospace technologies, is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join their growing team in Buckinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric propulsion systems, prototype builds, and vehicle assembly within the rapidly evolving e VTOL sector.
As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and testing of mechanical components within e VTOL platforms, ensuring high-quality standards and operational efficiency.
Role: Mechanical Technician
Location: Buckinghamshire
Working Arrangement: 5 days a week on site
Salary: £30k to £40k
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and components within e VTOL prototypes and production vehicles.
- Conduct mechanical troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on propulsion systems, drivetrain assemblies, and structural components.
- Work with engineers to develop, test, and validate mechanical prototypes, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Perform fabrication, machining, and modification of parts as required to support R&D and production builds.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models to assemble and modify components accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to optimize performance and reliability.
- Work closely with the electrical and HV teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Follow strict health and safety guidelines when working with high-performance vehicle components.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, Fitter, or Assembly Technician in Automotive, EV, e VTOL, or Aerospace industries.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, assemblies, and precision engineering.
- Experience with prototype development, mechanical fabrication, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to modify and assemble components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach to troubleshooting.
- Understanding of composite materials, lightweight structures, and high-performance vehicle components is desirable.
- Previous experience working in R&D or high-performance engineering environments is advantageous.
