What you’ll be doing Our client’s programme identifies, trains and supports schools to develop lasting writing-for-enjoyment practices. Underlying this is their view that every young person is a writer. They are recruiting a Project Manager to join their small team, which delivers projects promoting poetry and writing to young people in areas of deprivation. You will manage the development and delivery of several projects across the UK, working closely with schools, partner organisations, students and professional authors. This will include developing and delivering high-quality resources, training sessions and workshops for schools including for children, teachers and occasionally parents. You will also gather data, share learning, and develop case studies to build an evidence base of impact. This role is based in London, but you will be able to work from home if you prefer under our client’s flexible working policy. However, you will need to be in London at least six times per year for team and organisational days, or other office-based work, and unfortunately, they are unable to cover travel costs for this. You may also need to travel to visit programme activities, and costs for this will be covered by their expenses policy. What our client is looking for As well as being an excellent project manager, you will need class teaching experience in the UK, preferably planning and teaching English and sound knowledge of the national curriculum for English. You will also need experience of event planning and stakeholder management to work with a wide range of partners. Experience of working with culture or heritage sector organisations, or professional writers, would be an advantage.
